Job Description FOR USE BY IT AND HSIS ONLY: The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an APPLICATIONS ENGINEER II-ENT to provide development support for UAB's AI and Mobile initiatives. To provide support of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. To enhance and maintain the system by analyzing, designing, estimating, developing, documenting, testing and implementing required changes. To act as a direct liaison with user, technical support, training and operations personnel. To provide technical and administrative support to the department. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis. RESPONSIBILITIES: 2. Maintains a focus on requirements gathering and documentation. 3. Customer engagement working to develop innovative solutions that add business value. 4. Mentors and guides junior developers. 5. Perform other duties as assigned. (Annual Salary: $77,640 - $126,170) Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. The ideal Applications Engineer II should have experience developing cross-platform mobile apps, integrating AI features using APIs and cloud services like Azure or AWS. Proficiency in RESTful APIs, backend systems, and performance optimization is essential. Strong collaboration skills and a user-focused approach are key to success. Job:Information Technology
