GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The full-time faculty/clinical coordinator is entrusted with the comprehensive oversight of all clinical experiences within the Medical Laboratory Technology program. This role involves organizing and administering student placements, continuously reviewing and refining clinical processes, and planning the development of evolving clinical practice skills to ensure the highest quality of experiential learning. The coordinator is also responsible for assigning students to clinical sites, monitoring compliance with site requirements, maintaining detailed documentation, and verifying students' performance through regular on-site clinic visits. Serving as the key point of contact at each clinical site, the coordinator facilitates seamless communication and prompt resolution of any issues. In addition to these core clinical responsibilities, the position requires the management of various administrative duties such as ordering and maintaining lab supplies and delivering full-time instruction across lecture, laboratory, and clinical classes. This position is inclusive of a combined full-time academic appointment with administrative duties for clinical coordination. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: - Manage the administration, organization, and supervision of student clinical experiences
- Record evaluations and monitor progress toward clinical competence of all students in the Medical Laboratory Technology program.
- Continually review and improve the clinical education experience, coordinating clinical experiences with the didactic experiences in the program.
- Coordinate clinical placements, assigning students to appropriate clinical sites using continuous evaluation of site and clinical instructors to inform placement decisions.
- Support, educate, and mentor clinical instructors at clinic sites as needed to support student success.
- Communicate regularly with both students and clinical site representatives to ensure student success in the clinic and to ensure clinical instructors are aware of program requirements.
- Review and ensure clinic contracts are up to date and in place prior to placement of students, and verify that students meet site-specific requirements.
- Deliver full-time instruction in the Medical Laboratory Technology program, adhering to full-time faculty expectations at the college.
- Organize, update, and teach course content using diverse delivery formats, adapting techniques to suit a wide range of student backgrounds.
- In collaboration with the program director, assess course, program, and institutional outcomes to ensure outcomes are met.
- Partner with the program director on curriculum development, accreditation site visits, advisory board work, annual reporting, and program assessment.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to ensure currency in practice and teaching and learning.
- Assist in the process of requesting and maintaining instructional equipment and supplies for classroom/laboratory use.
- Participate in required departmental and College-wide activities.
- Engage in service to the college with both internal and external communities of interest.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology
- Current MLT or MLS certification through ASCP
- Have a minimum of three full years of recent and relevant work experience in the field of medical laboratory science.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Master's Degree
- Experience teaching at the college level, in didactic, laboratory
, and/or clinical settings - Prior experience in clinical coordination of a laboratory sciences program.
