Iowa State Universitys Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a Systems Analyst II to join the Infrastructure and Operations (IOPS) team, which supports academic computing across multiple campus units. This position will collaborate with the IOPS team and will play a key role in server management, computer lab administration, and software automation that supports instruction, research, and daily university operations. What youll do: Server management and administration Manage and maintain Linux and Windows servers including provisioning, configuration, system upgrades, patching, monitoring, and decommissioning. Respond to and troubleshoot system incidents reported by end-users and campus IT teams. Develop and maintain documentation related to server management processes.
Device management and administration Administer computing devices, including instructional lab systems running Windows, MacOS, and Linux. Support lab refreshes, software fulfillment, and device standardization through tools like MECM, Group Policy, and Jamf. Assist with OS upgrades, troubleshooting compatibility issues, and maintaining lab reliability across multiple departments.
Software packaging and automation Package and test software for automated deployment. Monitor and respond to software deployment alerts across platforms. Automate processes and routine tasks using scripting languages.
Security administration Monitor system health and review logs using tools such as Nagios, Nessus, and Microsoft Defender. Configure systems for secure operation and compliance with university security standards. Respond to security incidents and collaborate with the ITS Security team for resolution and prevention.
