Professional (+) (Fixed Term) Position Details: The Opportunity: The Student Achievement Specialist (SAS) has responsibility for increasing GEAR UP student engagement in their education, positive academic behaviors, family connection to critical school-based information, post-secondary access support for students and families. Duties include but are not limited to providing family outreach and education on college readiness, student and academic support services to include student advising, assessing participant's needs and creating individual action plans. The Student Achievement Specialist (SAS) will provide student mentoring and will monitor and collect student data for assessment and reporting requirements. Will work closely with school personnel and community partners and participate in classrooms, at lunch, before and after school, evening and weekend activities. The GEAR UP Program is funded with federal funds by the Department of Education grant whose purpose is to increase the number of low-income and underrepresented students who graduate from high school and successful complete post-secondary education. This position is overtime eligible. This position has been reposted. Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end on June 30, 2026. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment. Monthly Salary: $4,050.00 In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications: Positions require a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience.
