Job DescriptionMinneapolis College, a vibrant and inclusive two-year community and technical college, is accepting applications for a part-time choral director and music instructor to teach for the School of Design and the Arts beginning August 2025. This part-time position includes directing the College Choir and teaching other music courses as needed. This position includes our College Choir (MUSC 1310) and Introduction to Music (MUSC 1000). There is the option for a third course, MUSC This would be a total of 7 ?10 credits each semester.Salary Range:$43,067 - $71,893 annually. Salary schedule placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2023 - 2025 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree with a major in Music or master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in Music.Preferred QualificationMaster of music in choral conducting Community College Experience ? two or more years of teaching experience in an urban setting, community college or combined community and technical college, and/or similar environment.Technology and Pedagogy ? Demonstrated teaching in multiple modalities, including fully online and blended models, and incorporation of multimedia.Demonstrated understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community colleges and their students, faculty, staff, administrators, and communities they serve.Service to the College ? a demonstrated willingness to participate in department and committee work and/or student activities.Student-centered ? demonstrated contributions to student growth and development through retention measures, student mentoring, and student activities.Other RequirementsCurrent and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)Varies, some evenings and weekendsTelework (Yes/No)NoBenefitsEligibility will be determined by number of credits.Application ProcedureInterested Individuals should apply online, and applicants must include transcripts to be considered. Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) is a public two-year college located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.
