US Spanish Teacher

Connelly School of the Holy Child is seeking an experienced and dynamic Upper School Spanish Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about teaching and have a commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for our students. Connelly School of the Holy Child is a Catholic, college preparatory school that educates young women in grades 6 through 12. We emphasize academic rigor, a joy of learning, and leadership among young women through diverse and enriching experiences. 

Responsibilities: 

• Teach Spanish to students in grades 9-12, developing proficiency in all language skills. 

• Create an inclusive and dynamic classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement. 

• Implement a variety of instructional strategies, with a focus on communicative language teaching and cultural understanding based on ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. 

• Collaborate with colleagues in the World Languages department to develop a cohesive and interdisciplinary curriculum. 

• Assess student learning effectively and communicate progress regularly with students and their families. 

• Design performance assessments and projects that assess the 21st-century skills of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. 

• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
