A Brief Overview Directs nursing practice within the Cardiac Service Line and has operational leadership in the Cardiac Care Unit, Cath Lab, and Cardiac Transplant Program. Works in partnership with the Cardiac Service Line leadership and Division Chiefs to develop and communicate a shared vision, comprehensive strategic plan, and priorities for the service line. Works in collaboration with the Medical Directors of the Cardiac Care Unit, Cath Lab, and Cardiac Transplant Program to deliver high quality clinical care. Has accountability for budget, clinical, quality, service, and performance goals as well as strategic outcomes within the Cardiac Service Line. Essential Functions Operational Management • Ensures coordinated and high-quality care across the continuum. • Integrates and standardizes nursing services for the cardiac service line across the organization including inpatient and outpatient departments. • Directs and implements nursing practice across the cardiac service line. • Directs and implements the nursing and service line strategic plan to align with Children’s Nebraska's strategic plan. • Works in partnership with physician and service line leaders to plan, implement, and evaluate services to include a shared vision that is coordinated and innovative in program development. • Represents Children’s Nebraska and promotes the nursing profession by participating in professional activities at the state, local, and national level through involvement in professional associations and organizations. • Maximizes scope of service for nursing services; ensures all are utilizing the full extent of the scope of practice to provide the best patient care possible. Cardiac Care Unit • Develop and oversee the Cardiac Care Unit’s goals, standards, policies, procedures, and practice of clinical care. • Ensures compliance with quality assurance, safety practices, policies, regulatory, and legal requirements. • Collaborates with departmental leaders to plan, implement, and evaluate services. • Promotes both internal and external customer service through the development and implementation of programs with standards that reflect that goal. • Develops the annual budget and monitors inventory and resources. • Accountable for annual operating budget, contribution margin, and resource management within the cardiac care unit, cath lab, and cardiac transplant program Financial Management • Accountable for capital request and management for service line • Provide oversight in the development and maintenance of systems to capture all charges. • Develop methods for fiscal analysis and monitor existing or proposed programs and services. • Collaborates with foundation leadership to support fund raising opportunities and optimize grant funding. Performance Management • Continually assess and improve the performance of care and services provided. • Use business analytics to monitor and improve effectiveness and satisfaction. • Ensure readiness for regulatory compliance and high levels of customer service. • Facilitate evidence-based practice and enforce infection control compliance. |
