Assistant Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Coach

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with previous collegiate experience as a player or a coach is required;
• Previous collegiate coaching experience preferred;
• CPR, AED, and First-Aid certifications will be required prior to September 1, 2025;
• Valid driver’s license required prior to employment – and maintained throughout.

 Knowledge and Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of the sport of swimming and diving and its rules; ability to foster a team environment;
• Demonstrated coaching skills in sport of swimming and diving; a commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy of athletics;
• Commitment, and ability, to work effectively with diverse populations; high integrity and ethical standards are required, along with enthusiasm for the mission of Centre College and Centre Athletics;
• Knowledge of NCAA and SAA rules and regulations, and a demonstrated ability to successfully recruit, retain, and mentor student-athletes are essential;
• Additional qualifications include communication skills that allow for the ability to teach, motivate, and counsel student-athletes effectively as well as being self-motivated, positive, energetic, eager to teach, and a willingness to travel.
• Ability to foster a team environment as well as the ability and desire to work successfully within a team-oriented athletic department is essential.
• Fully embrace and practice the department’s priorities of Recruit, Educate, Train, Compete, and Inspire.
• Knowledge of or experience with pool maintenance is preferred, but a demonstrated desire to learn aquatic operations is required.

 Physical Requirements

• Moderate physical activity.
• Required handling of average – weight objects up to 75 pounds.
• Standing and or walking for more than four hours per day.
• Ability to drive a car.
• Visual acuity to view a screen.
• Work, as appropriate, nights and weekends.
