| Responsible for assisting the surgical team before, during, and after surgery. This requires specialty knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the operative patient population and area.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Cleans, prepares and dresses all operative tables and prepares operative equipment under the direction of the OR team.
2. Ensures availability of supplies, equipment and positioning devices in the OR as requested.
3. Maintains equipment storage area. Follows appropriate steps in addressing equipment concerns.
4. Restocks supplies and maintains PAR levels within ORs.
5. Collaborates with operative team to ensure completeness of OR set up and room readiness.
6. Transfers patient to the procedural area. Adheres to AHS policy in using 2 patient identifiers.
7. Assists operative staff with patient transfer and positioning as directed.
8. Assist environmental staff with room turnover. Cleans equipment according to the manufacturer's instructions.
9. Handles O2 tanks for patient transport.
10. Delivers surgical specimens to the lad as directed by the operative team, adhering to AHS policy.
11. Will cover the anesthesia technician in his/her absence.
12. Other related duties as assigned. Education/Experience
1. High School Diploma or GED required
2. Previous healthcare experience preferred
3. BLS certification highly preferred.
