Interested individuals who meet the minimum qualifications and possess the required experience are invited to apply. The assignment is to begin June 2026. Introduction Los Angeles Mission College (LAMC) is a two-year community college that serves more than 11,000 students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. The College is one of nine in the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). Founded in 1975, LAMC is located in the scenic foothill community of Sylmar with a satellite campus in Sunland-Tujunga and has strong historical ties to the neighboring communities of San Fernando, Pacoima, Mission Hills, North Hills, Panorama City and Granada Hills. In recent years, the institution's enrollment base has expanded to include many of the communities throughout the greater San Fernando Valley, as well as Canyon Country and Santa Clarita. The College provides excellent transfer, basic skills, transitional, and career education programs. Job Description Los Angeles Mission College is seeking applicants for an adjunct instructor of Nurse Assistant and Home Health Aid to begin instruction in the Summer 2026 Term semester (June 16, 2026). The assignment may consist of day, evening and/or weekend classes, and may include off campus, hybrid and online courses:
Minimum Qualifications
o [Verifiable] completion of a course in teaching adults; OR o Completion of a 24-hour course in 'Planning, Implementing and Evaluating Educational Programs in Nursing' satisfies this requirement. o Completion of a course approved by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) or by an accredited educational institution satisfies this requirement. o A BRN continuing education course certificate used to meet this requirement must comply with the requirements found in 16 CCR, 1450 et seq. o [Verifiable] experience in teaching adults; OR o [Verifiable experience] supervising nurse aides. NOTE: To be approved as an instructor, the RN faculty for the Nurse Assistant and Home Health Aide training program must first receive instructor approval from the CDPH. COMPENSATION The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $86.85 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.32 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential. Transcripts from foreign institutions must be submitted with an approved evaluation of equivalency from a foreign evaluation service approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. A one-page response to the following question: 'Please describe your understanding of and commitment to diversity and how diversity contributes to learning communities.
