Job Overview

The College of Nursing is seeking a full-time Nursing Simulation Coordinator to join our team in the Simulation and Skills Lab. The Simulation Coordinator will work on simulation-based activities across the undergraduate, pre-licensure and graduate programs. This position will supervise the daily operations of the simulation and skills lab and will report to the Director of Simulation.

Essential Functions

In collaboration with the Lab and Simulation Director, oversee the regular maintenance and repair of all simulation equipment including human patient simulators, computers, monitors and a variety of clinical durable medical equipment A/V and debriefing systems.
Recommend future equipment and supply purchases.
Facilitate the adult learning process to create a psychologically safe climate to support learning across the curriculum and programs.
Create, implement, facilitate, and debrief simulation-based learning and assessment activities within and across undergraduate and pre-licensure programs.
Participate in assessment of student learning activities necessary to meet prescribed student learning outcomes.
Maintain relevant simulation-based education through the review of relevant journals, abstracts, and scientific literature including underlying educational theories work/interact effectively with various populations, showing respect and sensitivity for all cultures.
Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

Bachelor?s of Science in Nursing.

Required Trainings/Certifications

Valid unencumbered Ohio license as a Registered Nurse.

Required Experience

Three (3) years of clinical experience.
Experience in simulation-based education and training.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Master?s of Science in Nursing.
Experience in a higher education.
Previous experience as a nurse educator.
Current Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) Certification.
