Utilizing a team approach (through the direct supervision of professional staff and indirect supervision of para-professional staff) and exercising sound judgment to facilitate a positive living environment within residential communities. Manage administrative tasks associated with the residential area, including but not limited to purchasing, conduct review, and scheduling as well as, implementation of initiatives that promote a sense of community in the residential area. Assist with the development and training of career and student staff. Provide crisis response through participation in on-call duty rotation. Acknowledge the diversity of the student body, to work proactively toward creating a community atmosphere in which people respect each other's rights, properties, and sensitivities. Identify and articulate student needs and issues within a developmental framework and collaborate with others in the department to provide an effective departmental/institutional response to those needs and issues. Regular office hours are required and visibility to the campus community and student body is important. Some evening and weekend work is required. The full salary range for the Assistant Director of Residential Education is $62,900.00 - $110,100.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $75,000.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
