The College is seeking passionate individuals to serve as liaison supporting enrollment from high schools in the Fremont, Newark, and Union City region. The College would like to strengthen the pathway and services offered to these students by having a consistent presence on the high school campuses. This position provides the employee(s) with the skills, expertise, and experience necessary to enter professional roles in high school and higher education environments. This opportunity will equip the employee with general and in-depth knowledge of a vast range of student support services and programs. This is a temporary position, limited to a maximum of 165 working days within a fiscal year. Duties and Responsibilities The purpose of the Dual Enrollment Liaison (DELs) is to guide feeder school students on the pathway to Ohlone College. DELs will develop a relationship with assigned feeder school sites and students by being present on the school campuses. The Dual Enrollment Liaison will provide information, answer questions, and will assist in the recruitment, enrollment, and matriculation of Ohlone College feeder school students.
Duration This position is renewable on an annual basis and shall work a maximum of 20 hours per week with the assignment spanning 45 weeks per year including regular and summer terms. Assessment DEL's will work under the direction and supervision of a college administrator. Their progress is measured each semester through direct observation, student surveys, mentoring, and ongoing training sessions. Learning Outcomes
Minimum Qualifications 1. Any combination equivalent to a bachelor's degree and two years of related work experience; AND 2. Demonstration of effective oral and written communication skills, including presentations; 3. Possession of working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs; 4. Possession of good record-keeping skills with an attention to detail; 5. Possession of the ability to provide an equitable and inclusive working and educational environment; AND Must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices. Desirable Qualifications Bilingual competency in Spanish and/or American Sign Language preferred. Working Conditions
