Assistant Professor Tenure Track - Health Science Studies

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • Earned doctorate (Ph.D., M.D., D.O., or equivalent) in a relevant biomedical, health sciences, or clinical field.
  • Evidence of applied and/or translational research expertise in one or more targeted areas.
  • Demonstrated potential for or record of securing external research funding.
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate research engagement and experiential learning.
• Preferred:
  • Ability to perform diagnostic procedures (e.g., ultrasounds, computed tomography, muscle biopsies) for research applications.
  • Ability to teach undergraduate students how to conduct and interpret research and apply evidence-based practice in their future health professions.
  • Postdoctoral or equivalent research experience.
  • Prior experience mentoring undergraduate or graduate students in research settings.
  • Collaborative track record across disciplinary and institutional boundaries.
• Responsibilities:
• Develop and sustain a high-impact, externally funded research program.
• Involve undergraduate students in research and experiential learning activities.
• Teach undergraduate courses in the Health Science Studies major about interpreting research and applying evidence-based practice in their future health professions.
• Collaborate with faculty across Baylor and external partners to enhance research and student opportunities.
• Contribute to departmental, college, and university service.
