![]() Residence Education Coordinator (Multiple Positions)(Onsite) Hiring Range The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The salary or hourly range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $50,000- $52,000. Additional Compensation Live-in position with furnished apartment (2-bedroom apartment) and academic year meal plan (while classes are in session). Full University benefits that include excellent health, life insurance and 14 paid holidays. Domestic Partners Allowed Yes. Housing Pets ADA and Emotional Support Animals. The Office of Residence education is focused on creating an evolving community built to educate, equip, and empower. While living on campus, residents will engage in activities and interactions that model empathy and service to foster student development and community interaction; create a welcoming environment where students are valued and supported to foster generosity and gratitude; and challenge ourselves and others to grow, understand, and appreciate diversity with open minds and intentionality. The Residence Education Coordinator (REC) at UC Merced plays a pivotal role in creating a vibrant and supportive living-learning community within the residence halls. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned residential communities, fostering an inclusive environment conducive to academic success, personal growth, and community engagement. The Residence Education Coordinator is responsible for implementing and evaluating residence education initiatives, providing guidance and support to residential staff, serving as a campus referral source and conduct officer, and addressing the diverse needs of students ranging from first-year undergraduates to graduate students. The REC position involves frequent interaction with students, staff, and campus partners in various settings, including office meetings, residence hall environments, and campus events. The Residence Education Coordinator participates in an on-call rotation during weekdays, weekends, holidays, break and is required to respond to crisis situations outside of regular business hours. This is a live-on position that includes a furnished two-bedroom on-campus staff apartment and a residential dining meal plan during academic terms. This position requires responsibility for supervising, directing, and evaluating the work of subordinate employees and exercising independent judgment in the administration of department policies and procedures.
