| Job Summary: The Senior Architect leads the planning, design, and execution of healthcare facility projects, including new construction, renovations, and major capital improvements. This role ensures that all projects meet clinical, operational, and regulatory requirements, while supporting high-quality patient care. The Senior Architect serves as the primary design and technical resource, collaborating closely with leadership, clinical teams, consultants, and contractors Responsibilities: - Lead the architectural design and technical direction for healthcare projects from concept through construction.
- Develop schematic design, design development, and construction documents that align with operational needs and clinical workflows.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare building codes, life safety standards, and hospital design guidelines (FGI, ADA, NFPA, NYS DOH).
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, consultants, contractors, and hospital stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project updates, client presentations, and regulatory approvals.
- Mentor junior and mid-level architects, providing guidance on design, documentation, and project management.
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
- Participate in feasibility studies, site evaluations, and capital planning initiatives.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, and quality control to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and construction administration to ensure design intent is executed accurately.
Qualifications/Requirements: EXPERIENCE - 7-10+ years of experience, preferably in healthcare facilities design.
EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in Architecture required; Master's degree preferred.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS OTHER - Strong knowledge of healthcare codes, regulations, and construction standards.
- Proficiency in CAD, Revit, and other design/documentation software.
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams effectively
