The Supervising Psychiatrist reports to the Chief of Psychiatry to lead, support and coordinate the activities of subordinate psychiatric physicians and nurse practitioners, and may serve as a primary physician on a unit when resource needs require. In this capacity, the Supervising Psychiatrist ensures compliance with federal and state laws, administrative rules, the Joint Commission and CMS standards, OSH policies, and professional standards of practice. The Supervising Psychiatrist is also a member of the program executive team and collaborates with associate chiefs in other clinical disciplines, as well as the program director, to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of clinical processes within the program. This includes oversight of program-wide, unit-wide, and individual patient processes and treatment provided.
