| Job Description FOR USE BY IT AND HSIS ONLY: The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a NETWORK TECHNICIAN II-ENT to manage moderately complex tasks typically relating to network monitoring, operations, installation and/or maintenance. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis. RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Annual Salary: $45,395 - $59,015) High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Preferred Skills: 1. Experience with cisco phones, cisco gateways and Analog Telephone Adapters. 2. Experience with HP Aruba or Ruckus/brocade switches. 3. Experience with user administration of Service Now, PCR-360 Mysoft, and Akips, Crane network management system. 4. Experience with the installation and setup of Wireless Access Points 5. Experience with the installation of Single mode and Multi-mode fiber optic jumpers and performing end to end fiber optic testing to support 10Gbps data networking.
