| Summary: The Oncology Practice Nurse provides specialized nursing support for the Bon Secours Medical Group (BSMG) Hematology/Oncology clinic. This position is integral to the delivery of comprehensive, high-quality outpatient oncology care. The nurse supports physicians and advanced practice providers by coordinating patient care, providing symptom management, facilitating phone triage, educating patients on their diagnosis and treatment, and assisting with prior authorizations and treatment planning. This role ensures continuity of care and enhances the overall patient experience throughout the cancer journey. Responsibilities:
Qualifications/Requirements: Experience: 2-3 years of nursing experience required; prior oncology nursing experience strongly preferred.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Licenses / Certifications: Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred. Current BLS certification required. Other: Strong assessment, triage, and critical-thinking skills. Excellent communication and patient education abilities. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
