This role manages professional and supervisory staff, guiding the achievement of departmental and institutional goals through coordinated team efforts. The Director establishes long-term organizational objectives, formulates and implements policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with university, state, and federal regulations. The position manages human, financial, and operational resources to support efficient, compliant, and student-centered graduate program administration. As graduate enrollment continues to grow, now exceeding 900 graduate students across more than 18 programs in CNAS, the Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring consistency, accountability, and strategic alignment across advising, admissions, enrollment management, and program operations. The role also provides high-level support to the Assistant Dean in areas including contract management, compliance, and oversight of graduate academic and administrative processes. This position represents a significant evolution from traditional student services management to one that integrates policy implementation, program assessment, and strategic coordination, reflecting the expanding complexity, scale, and impact of graduate education at UC Riverside. The full salary range for the Director of Graduate Student Advising is $84,100.00 - $154,700.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $84,100.00 - $101,750.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time.
