CONTRACT TITLE College Assistant FLSA Non-exempt CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION Lehman College, of The City University of New York, ranks among the top five institutions in the nation for fostering social mobility. The Lehman College Office of International Programs & Community Engagement (IPCE) fosters local and global engagement through curricular and co-curricular offerings, interaction with students and faculty from a broad range of cultures and languages, and opportunities to learn and conduct research at home and abroad. Reporting to the Associate Director for International Student and Scholar Services, the College Assistant with ISSS will support recruitment and admission activities for students who intend to pursue F-1 non-immigrant status while attending Lehman College. This is a hybrid role. All full-time and part-time CUNY staff are expected to work 70% in person. This hybrid work schedule is subject to change. Clerical/General Administration Site-Specific Responsibilities: -Greet diverse customers, visitors, and others in a professional manner; screen visitors and phone calls as directed; refer people to appropriate staff or to other offices as appropriate; takes accurate and complete messages; replies to email messages in a timely manner. -Respond to routine questions and requests from clients and staff; distribute forms and applications; may review returned documents for completeness; clarify requests; provide prompt service; explain the need for any additional information; keep visitors, clients and staff informed of progress; return calls as appropriate. -Use standard computer software and other office technology to input, format and transcribe documents; may input and format spreadsheets. -Maintain paper and/or electronic files using established procedures; retrieves files as requested. -Collaborate with IPCE staff to actively implement and achieve departmental goals and objectives. -Actively engage with and develop the ISSS communication plan. -Attend local area college recruitment fairs. -Plan, develop, and co-host F-1 international admission on-line information sessions. -Perform additional duties as assigned. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS A preferred candidate should have: -Bachelor?s degree. -Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills. -Ability to take initiative when necessary and willingness to learn. -Strong digital/media skillset highly desired. -Flexible with availability. COMPENSATION Compensation for this position is commensurate with experience and ranges from $23.00 - $25.00 per hour "Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
