Director of Accounting (Part Time)

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP

• Maintain accurate and timely accounting records, internal controls, and monthly financial reports in accordance with congregational policy, and at the request of the Board of Directors and Senior Pastor.
• Provide financial analysis of operations to identify areas for cost reduction, improved cash flow, and revenue enhancement (if applicable).
• Carry out special projects as assigned by the Church Administrator or Senior Pastor relating to the financial operations of the church, school, and church plants.
• Implement policy and procedures and other internal controls to provide for the control and safeguarding of assets.
• Manage FACTS family accounts, incorporating school tuition and financial aid
• Supervise the Accounting Clerk as needed.
• Collaborate with the Treasurer to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Work with Senior Pastor to continue to build a culture of generosity within Crown of Life’s ministry.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field (preferred).
• 5–7+ years of related experience (experience with a church is a plus).
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Strong organizational, financial, and project management skills.
• Ability to balance multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster teamwork and resolve conflict.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including reports and presentations.
• Experience in staff leadership, performance management, and HR processes.
• Familiarity with accounting software, spreadsheets, and database systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Part-time role (20-25 hours/week), primarily weekdays.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and walk/stand for extended periods.
• Noise level typically low to moderate.
