Division Director - Industry Analysis Division

The Missouri Public Service Commission is seeking an individual to provide highly technical and administrative direction to professional staff involved with utility regulation in the areas of rate design, tariff work, engineering, gas safety and quality of service functions in our Jefferson City office.

Salary: Annual salary is $127,138 plus benefits. (The salary listed reflects the base pay rate. Verified prior state service, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, may increase total compensation.)

The Industry Analysis Division consists of seven departments: Energy Resources, Engineering Analysis, Manufactured Housing, Safety Engineering, Tariff/Rate Design, Telecommunications, and Water, Sewer, Gas, and Steam. These departments support the Commission in meeting its statutory responsibilities by providing technical expertise in safety; utility rates, tariffs, rules and regulations; economic analysis; engineering oversight and investigations; and construction inspections. These departments accomplish their mission by making recommendations to the Commission in the form of expert testimony, formal recommendations and presentations.

What you’ll do:

• Provide highly technical and administrative direction to professional staff involved with utility regulation in the areas of rate design, tariff work, engineering, gas safety and quality of service functions.
• Coordinate and focus the efforts of agency personnel, both within and outside the Division, toward effective and efficient resource allocation and the development of Staff’s formal positions in all docketed Commission cases in coordination with other Division Directors.
• Work to ensure that Division personnel understand and follow Commission policies and procedures in the conduct of their regulatory activities.
• Oversee PSC involvement with utility customer-facing activities and experiences and make recommendations on customer-related issues before the commission.
• Position may require occasional in- and out-of-state travel.
