The Medical Director of the NYU Student Health Center will play a pivotal role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to NYU students. This individual will lead the Student Health Center, ensuring that the organization adheres to the highest standards of clinical care, operational efficiency, and innovation in student health. The Medical Director serves as the lead physician for the SHC in matters of accreditation, credentialing, and licensing. They are responsible for staff in departments that include Primary Care, Urgent Care, Medical Specialties, GYN Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Optometry, and Administrative Support. The effective delivery of these programs depends on designing and executing strong policies and protocols, implementing and monitoring evidence-based clinical practices, and mitigating risks by overseeing a robust program of risk management and quality improvement. They report to the Vice President of Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing and serve on the SHC Executive Team and Governing Body. The Medical Director will be responsible for:
The ideal candidate is a leader who is motivated by mission, and can operate with a students first mindset. The SHC has a vibrant, collaborative culture and the Medical Director will play a key role in fostering and maintaining the organizational culture. This leader will focus primarily on the day to day of the SHC. There may be times when this person is called upon to speak externally or across campus, but this is largely an internal role. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
