The role you'll contribute:
The Educator fosters the integration of the organization's vision and values and accomplishes the mission and strategic plan through an accountable work team. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Educator collaborates with patients/customers, families, physicians, administration, and associates to meet customer needs and expectations in a patient focused and healing environment. The Educator uses critical thinking and demonstrates leadership skills in assuring that appropriate care is carried out for specific patient population(s). The Educator is responsible for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel and all members of the health care team. The Educator is responsible for establishing the tone of the work environment and ensuring that all personnel are competent, adhere to all policies of the department and organization and adhere to all behavior standards of Shawnee Mission Health. The Nursing Development Educator is accountable for developing, growing, and maintaining a ANCC accredited program/model defining competency assessment, monitoring and measurement for nursing professionals meeting regulatory requirements, outcome goals and professional growth and development needs. The Educator would also be our patient experience coordinator. Pulling and presenting data monthly and helping to work with teams on improving our patient experience scores. The Educator would sit on the mid America regional policy committee and ensure our clinical policies at South Overland Park remained current with evidence-based practices within the region. The Educator will also work with the AdventHealth Education team at Shawnee Mission on corporate initiatives so our roll outs remain consistent across the region.
