| ABOUT THE COLLEGE: PURPOSE OF POSITION: Join as an adjunct faculty member and be a part of one of the most diverse school in Washington State. ASTRO & 101: General Astronomy is a five-credit course that represents a unified account of contemporary astronomy covering topics from the solar system to the entire universe at its grandest scale. Laboratory portion has the purpose of introducing students to methods and techniques commonly employed in astronomy. Actual experiments vary depending upon weather conditions and which celestial objects are observable that season. Satisfies a natural science or lab science requirement for AA degree. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in a closely related physical science such as physics, astrophysics, chemistry, or geophysics with successful teaching experience (preferably in astronomy) at the college level OR Master's Degree in astronomy with some teaching experience (any subject) at the college level. |
