| This position is responsible for: · Serving as the primary point of contact for Forest Protection inquiries (phone, email, and in person), providing accurate information on forestry services and tree permit requirements. · Delivering excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, facilitating engagement opportunities, and escalating complex issues to management when necessary. · Coordinating all aspects of tree permit applications, including the review of site, grading, and architectural plans, arborist reports, and tree protection plans to ensure compliance with by-laws and standards. · Managing applicant communications, follow-ups, and resubmissions to ensure completeness and accuracy of submissions. · Reviewing active and open permit files within the tracking system to generate task lists and follow-up actions for Forest Protection Officers. · Assisting with staff scheduling, file distribution, and related coordination activities. · Supporting the supervisor in developing and updating standards, specifications, guidelines and online content related to urban forestry practices. · Conducting research and analysis to support program evaluation, policy development, benchmarking and special projects. · Collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data on permit applications, payments, and approvals to identify trends to inform service improvements. · Performing data quality checks and preparing reports on permit activity, including application volumes, processing timelines and financial metrics. · Coordinating permit releases and approvals by facilitating communication between officers, applicants and payment staff to ensure timely issuance. · Maintaining accurate records of permits, payments, and related documentation in accordance with municipal standards. · Performing other duties as assigned to support forest protection and urban forestry initiatives. |
