Deputy Director, Regulation and Policy Group - Division of Supervision and Regulation

Summary:
Reporting to the division director, Division of Supervision and Regulation, the deputy director, Regulation and Policy Group, ensures regulation and policy development activities are efficient, effective, fair, transparent, and publicly accountable. This position serves as a senior leader in the organization and member of the Vice Chair for Supervision’s leadership team. The deputy director provides executive leadership for activities including regulation and policy development, policy planning, strategy and coordination, specialized policy, and emerging issues.

This position is located in Washington, DC.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The deputy director will: 

• Set the strategy and objectives for the Regulation and Policy Group;
• Oversee the development of regulatory policies for U.S. depository institutions and depository institution holding companies, foreign banks with operations in the United States, and U.S. nonbank financial firms designated by the Financial Stability Oversight Council;
• Lead the domestic and international regulatory policy development efforts;
• Oversee the accounting, auditing, and internal controls policies and practices of supervised firms;
• Oversee the coordination of supervisory initiatives involving corporate governance and anti-money laundering (AML) programs of banking organizations supervised by the Federal Reserve, including their compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA);
• Coordinate the Division’s international regulatory policy development efforts in the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, Financial Stability Board, and International Association of Insurance Supervisors;
• Represent the Federal Reserve in public forums and in meetings with the most senior representatives of domestic and foreign governmental and supervisory agencies;
• Communicate frequently with the Board’s Governors about the Division’s supervisory and regulatory policies;
• Ensure key policy issues are appropriately escalated to the Division Director and Vice Chair for Supervision;
• Proactively work across S&R Groups and with other Board Divisions to share information, collaborate, and break down silos to ensure supervision is operating efficiently and effectively as possible;
