![]() KPBS Videographer/ Studio Technician Req No: 2025-19736 Category: Radio/TV/Multimedia Type: Full-Time Contract Salary: $31.25 - $32.75 per hour Close Date: 12/4/2025 Overview The salary range for this position is $31.25 - $32.75 per hour depending upon qualifications and is non-negotiable. This position is scheduled to close on 12/4/2025 at 4:00pm (PST). KPBS serves the greater San Diego community with informative, cultural, entertaining, and educational television, radio, and web programming. KPBS TV/FM is the public television and radio stations for San Diego. Licensed to San Diego State University, KPBS supports and furthers the university's educational and community service mission by informing, enlightening, and empowering its listeners. It does so not only by presenting national and locally produced programming of value to its San Diego audience, but also by producing programming about San Diego and its people for distribution nationwide. The KPBS Production Services department works as a team in collaboration with other departments to enhance the operations of KPBS. The department oversees and provides content for television, radio and digital media production, post-production, field production, graphics, studio rental, special events, sales of excess capacity and projects coordination, design, planning of new facilities and equipment acquisition. Responsibilities Under supervision of the Production Services Manager, the Videographer/Studio Technician is responsible for participating as technical crew in KPBS studio and field productions and other special shows, events, and projects. The position includes oversight of and/ or assistance with camera operation, lighting, editing, technical directing, audio for TV and radio live production, radio technical directing, video playback, video shading, graphics, studio maintenance, teleprompter, and associated positions in production. This position also assists with lighting design for productions and helps develop set designs and plans for construction. Responsibilities may also include mentoring student assistants working in the studio.
