We invite applications for the Byllye Avery Endowed Professor in Sexual and Reproductive Justice. This is a senior faculty position for a distinguished scholar of national and international prominence in the Department of Community Health and Social Sciences. Named for Byllye Yvone Avery, a trailblazer in advancing global sexual and reproductive justice through providing health care services, education and advocacy, the endowed professor will shape the next era of scholarship, training, and public engagement in sexual and reproductive justice at CUNY SPH. This position is based in New York City and will begin in Fall 2026. QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
Preferred Qualifications
COMPENSATION $180,000 - $200,000 CUNY offers faculty a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits, paid parental leave, and savings programs. We also provide mentoring and support for research, scholarship, and publication as part of our commitment to ongoing faculty professional development. CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
