Salary Range $116,300.00 - $174,425.00Overview This position, reporting to the Associate Director, Financial Systems & Solutions, will be a member of the development team supporting Yale's Financial systems and the Finance function at Yale. The primary focus will be in the area of Finance (General Accounting, Chart of Accounts, Sponsored Projects, Budgets) and Source to Pay (requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, suppliers, procurement card imports, settlements, etc.), but will also support other Finance functions/systems. The Financial Systems & Solutions team creates and maintains applications and integrations built on the Workday platform, including the Workday integrations toolset and Workday Extend and orchestration, and middleware tools like webMethods and Talend. The person in this position must have the capacity to understand technical concepts but be able to communicate in a non-technical manner with functional users. This role will collaborate with other members of the team to ensure the development of consistent business architecture across the Finance applications at Yale. This role will lead the support and/or installation software applications and integrations, participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. This role will provide support and guidance to users, helping to resolve issues related to system usage and performance. This includes providing on-call and 24/7 support when necessary. Provides technical support to project team members. Performs a variety of tasks. As a Software Engineer 4, this person will be expected to leads and direct the work of others and at a minimum apply their leadership qualities at the team and department level; Assignments are complex; decisions can have a medium and long term impact to the areas of which they are accountable requiring advanced best practice expertise.
Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree and strong knowledge in supporting Financial systems, Workday is preferred. Design, analyze, code, test, debug, document and maintain highly complex enterprise systems; develop enhancements that enable a positive end-user experience. 2. Formulate, define, and document system scope and objectives to develop or modify highly complex software systems. 3. Analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required. 4. Define projects, organize a project team, and direct project activities; provide technical guidance to less experienced programmer/ analyst; may instruct, direct, and check the work of other application developers. 5. Research, analyze, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. 6. Creates and implements project specifications/plans for projects with significant inter-dependency with other systems and/or projects. 7. Develop or modify procedures to solve complex problems related to computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree and seven years of experience or equivalent education and experience.
