| Position Overview The Menlo College Athletics Department seeks applications for the position of Head Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time, 11-month, exempt position, and reports jointly to the Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Health, Wellness and Performance and Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student Services. The description of responsibilities below is intended to be a descriptive but not necessarily all-inclusive list of responsibilities. The Head Athletic Trainer is a member of the Department of Athletics and is responsible for assisting Menlo College’s intercollegiate athletics program and establishing policies and procedures that achieve the parallel goals of development of quality, competitive athletics teams and support the individual education goals of student-athletes. The Head Athletic Trainer serves as the administrator for all sports programs and assists the Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Health, Wellness and Performance in all phases of sports medicine for Menlo College intercollegiate athletic programs and student-athletes. The position will abide by all the NCAA Division II, PacWest Conference, and Menlo College Athletics Department rules and regulations. Failure to follow NCAA, conference or Menlo College rules will result in my immediate dismissal from all duties. Responsibilities The following is intended to be a descriptive but not necessarily all-inclusive list of responsibilities. Work with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Health, Wellness and Performance to develop a comprehensive and proactive approach to student-athlete health and wellness. Manage pre-participation physicals for student-athletes. Complete daily preventive taping and treatments as necessary for all student- athletes. Complete daily post-op treatments and rehab as necessary for all student- athletes. Coordinate rehabilitation of injured student-athletes with Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Health, Wellness and Performance and team physician. Work alongside the Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Health, Wellness and Performance to coordinate and discuss all athletics related injuries and how to implement a plan for both student-athlete and support staff. Assist Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Health, Wellness and Performance with administrative duties, including injury and insurance tracking Maintain current injury and treatment records. Manage all work schedules of athletic training staff. Coordinate with head coaches and Assistant Director of Athletics for Student- Athlete Health, Wellness and Performance on standard of care and coverage for athletic teams to include travel. Establish and follow emergency procedures for care of student-athletes. Work alongside other athletic trainers and assist Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Health, Wellness and Performance with all drug testing procedures within the department. Work alongside the Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Health, Wellness and Performance to conduct regular counts of inventory levels and assist with inventory and ordering of all necessary medical supplies for the Athletic Training Room. Work alongside the Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Health, Wellness and Performance to help educate the younger Athletic Training staff. The Head Athletic Trainer must abide by all applicable NCAA, athletic conference (PacWest), and Menlo College Athletics Department rules and regulations.
