![]() Postdoctoral Research Associate About the Opportunity This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. JOB SUMMARY The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct research on the interface of high energy theory, general relativity and mathematical physics, focusing on celestial holography and related topics, including conformal field theory, AdS/CFT, amplitudes and symmetries of asymptotically flat spacetime. This position is funded by the Simons Collaboration on Celestial Holography, made up of 13 PIs at 10 institutions around the world. The position carries with it the benefit of substantial opportunities for travel and scientific interaction. This includes funded travel to Collaboration meetings, workshops, and schools, as well as the potential for intra-collaboration research visits. This position will perform basic or applied research of a limited scope, primarily using existing theories and methods. They will assist the supervisor in the interpretation and publication of results and grants. Primary responsibility is ensuring that the research is complete. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must have a Ph.D. in Physics or related field; be able to undertake substantially full-time research or scholarship; work under the supervision of a senior scholar. Solid background in high-energy theoretical and mathematical physics, including, but not limited to, quantum field theory and general relativity. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
