![]() Assistant Director of Academic Personnel for the Social Sciences Job ID: Location: Main Campus - UCR Schedule: 8AM - 5PM Category: Campus Administration and Operations Salary: $93,200 - $174,200 Full/Part Time: Full-time(100%) Organization: College of Humanities Arts & Social Sciences Department: Daryle Williams Application Deadline: Open Until Filled Position Information: Under the leadership and supervision of the Director of CHASS Academic Personnel the Assistant Director serves as a critical member on the CHASS Academic Personnel team and will oversee a team of analysts fulfilling the portfolio of AP actions including appointments, reappointments, merits, promotions, retentions and leaves. The Assistant Director will participate in strategic planning, perform in depth analysis of policies and procedures and formulate recommendations in a wide variety of academic personnel areas. This position supervises 3 staff supporting the processes for 13 departments and is responsible for ensuring timelines are met and files are in compliance with policies and procedures. The Assistant Director will provide a high level of customer service and support on complex issues to the Dean, Associate Deans, department chairs and staff within CHASS. The full salary range for the Assistant Director of Academic Personnel for the Social Sciences is $93,200 - $174,200 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Department Custom Scope Under the general direction of the CHASS Academic Personnel Director, the Assistant Director of Academic Personnel for the Social Sciences provides professional level responsibilities for the Academic Personnel unit of the Dean's office in CHASS. This position serves as a critical member of the CHASS Academic Personnel team and will serve as one of the Assistant Directors of the unit overseeing the full portfolio of academic personnel actions for the college including appointments, reappointments, merits, promotions and retentions. In concert with the Director of the Academic Personnel Unit and the senior leadership team in the Dean's office, they will participate in strategic planning, perform analysis and formulate recommendations in a wide variety of academic personnel areas and will develop and implement college policies and procedures. This position supervises and trains staff supporting the academic personnel processes for departments and is responsible for ensuring timelines are met and files are in compliance with policies and procedures. They must possess a comprehensive knowledge of UC policies and procedures, college practices and guidelines and demonstrate a detailed understanding of the day-to-day operations of academic personnel functions at the department and college level. The College Academic Personnel Office provides support to the college leadership team, 22 departments, multiple centers, and interdisciplinary programs that includes the support of Department Chairs and Directors.
