| Summary of Responsibilities The Chair of Modern Languages is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Hackley’s modern languages curriculum (Spanish, French, Mandarin) and serves as a conduit for and champion of the study and teaching of modern languages for the Hackley community. The Chair of Modern Languages will supervise a staff of 11 full-time modern languages teachers who are responsible for instruction in grades 3-12 and ideally teach three classes of Spanish Language in Middle and/or Upper School. The Chair sits on the school’s Academic Committee, collaborates actively with the Division Directors of the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools, and reports to the Director of Academic Affairs. Salary and Benefits: The current salary range for this 10-month faculty position is $74,006–$112,853, based on years of experience as published in Hackley’s faculty salary stage scale.
