This regular, full time, staff position will work Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. There will be times when this position is expected to work extended hours. Additionally, this role will be expected to engage in the community/service area, requiring travel by car.

Regular on-campus presence is expected for all KCC employees. Any flexible and/or hybrid work schedules are subject for review, approval, and/or change based on the needs of the College.

Position Summary
The Manager assists the Department Chair with management of high-impact programming including first year seminar, honors, international studies and service-learning. They strengthen community and global partnerships and promote faculty and student community engagement, organize, and manage events, maintain college web page(s) associated with programs. In collaboration with Department Chair, they assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training of adjunct faculty. In collaboration with Department Chair, this role provides oversight and support for adjunct faculty related to high-impact programming. The Integrative Learning Manager provides input to the Department Chair to assure relevant academic planning, scheduling, and degree review in support of high -impact programming. They develop and manage efforts toward community engagement and service-learning for instructional division courses and programming. Serve on College committees and advisory boards. This role manages risk and liability through the development of policies and procedures for off campus integrative learning.

Physical Demands
The job responsibilities are performed in an office area and presentation venues. Travel by car required. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as independent mobility between work areas, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 - 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree (MA, MS) or equivalent obtained from an accredited college or university.
Study abroad or travel experience.
Service-learning experience or extensive volunteer and community development experience.
Evidence of community partnership success such as Articulation Agreements, K-12 partnerships, advisory board presence, events, volunteering, serving on community boards.
Knowledge of online education and assessment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and manage special projects under strict deadlines with limited resources.
Two to three (2-3) years of experience in administrative or instruction programming leadership.
At least one (1+) year of post-secondary classroom instruction experience.
Two to three (2-3) years of experiences in creating and maintaining community global partnerships.

Preferred but not Required

Master's degree in Higher Education from an accredited college or university.
Two to three (2-3) years' experience teaching in higher education.
Experience working at a community college.
One to two (1-2) years of experience leading higher education programming.
Experience supervising employees.

Proposed Salary
According to the Kellogg Community College Hay Administrative Compensation program, the 2025-2026 annual salary range for a Manager 1 position, $63,276 to $79,098 to start.

Job Duties

Essential Function: Program Management

Description:

In collaboration with Department Chair, assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training of qualified adjunct instructors in Integrative Learning.
Assist Department Chair with the management of adjunct faculty, including coaching, hiring, and evaluation with a focus of supporting high impact best practices in higher education.
Provide input to Department Chair regarding the supervision of contracted employees or grant related employees. Supervise student workers associated with high-impact programming.
Establish and ensure a work environment that reinforces the value of employees, promotes employee involvement and collaboration, and positive and goal-oriented work environment, and encourages and rewards ongoing improvement.
Provide input and collaborate with the Department Chair to help assure the appropriate management of limited resources and budgets related to Integrative Learning programming. Seek out potential funding sources as directed by Chair.
Facilitate projects and practices in support of high impact practices. Coordinate and facilitate communication to students and staff.
Act as a link between students, faculty, administration, and policy to provide an environment responsive to change.
Assist Department Chair and faculty to support curriculum development and design of high-impact programming.
Teach up to two sections of First Year Seminar (FYS) and Service Learning, as necessary.
Maintain and provide appropriate documentation, teaching materials, course content, syllabi, assessment, and other documents necessary for the education of students.
Collaborate with fellow FYS and Service Learning instructors on best practices, content delivery, assessment, and planning.

Essential Function: Community Engagement

Description:

Facilitate community outreach efforts that support instruction. Serve as the community liaison for community engagement and partnerships with faculty and community partners for Integrative Learning. Support faculty, administration, staff, students, and community partners with the advancement of high impact practice through effective outreach efforts including consultation, training, mentoring, and development in support of institutional mission and priorities.
Problem solve gaps in needs to develop diverse and sustainable partnerships and provide feedback to Department Chair. Participate on community committees and roundtables to learn community needs and develop partnerships that fit with program, course learning outcomes and are sustainable.
Develop opportunities on campus for faculty, staff, and students as an avenue for service on campus, including the management of the collaborative garden.

Essential Function: Enrollment and Program Quality Assurance (Assessment)

Description:

In collaboration with the Department Chair, develop and implement strategies designed to promote enrollment, recruitment, and retention of students, e.g., encourage faculty and employee participation in high-impact practices related to service learning, international travel, first year experience, and the Honors Program, and similar practices.
Collaborate with Department Chair to create data-informed intervention strategies designed to increase student success. Maintain and use data related to high impact programming including course logistics, student achievement data, and grant evaluation as directed by Department Chair and according to college policies.
Provide and design training to internal and external stakeholders to assure the high-quality programming related to high impact practices including service-learning certification, hosting Volunteer and Civic Engagement Fairs, Honors Symposium, and Bruins Give Back events.
Collaborate with Department Chair and KCC marketing Staff to create marketing plans that are intentional and utilize a variety of modalities including social media.
Work with KCC marketing staff to track, analyze, and use data related to marketing success.

Essential Function: Compliance and Fiscal Accountability

Description:

Work with the Department Chair to ensure compliance with requirements of accreditation, regulatory, legal, and other entities that impact department programs and functions including bargaining units' procedures.
Predict and create strategies to reduce potential risk and liability in support of programming. Mitigate risk management related to programming.
Maintain and provide appropriate documentation, procedures, and reporting in line with these requirements and within college guidelines.

Essential Function: Collaboration and Advocacy

Description:

Foster collaborative relationships across the College and effectively use resources to support the work of the department.
Advocate for programming and practices internally and externally. Advance diversity and equity practices within high impact practices.
Collaborate with college departments, faculty, and staff on college-wide instructional initiatives.
