2. Demonstrated ability to handle complex situations, particularly those with a high level of confidentiality and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines. 3. Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail. Proficient computer skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and use of electronic databases. 4. Strong critical thinking, analytical, planning and organizational skills and the ability to understand and explain complex policies. Ability to interpret federal, state, and local non-discrimination laws and regulations. Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Juris Doctorate or master's degree in human resources, higher education, or related field strongly preferred. Experience leading protected class-based discrimination and harassment investigations, with preference for academic environment investigations. Extensive knowledge of protections against discrimination and harassment. Principal Responsibilities 1. Reviews alleged violations of university policy against discrimination and harassment based on protected characteristic to determine appropriate resolution processes. Focuses on Title VI related matters. Works with OIEA colleagues to develop investigative strategy; provides updates and advises relevant parties on investigative process; conducts party and witness interviews and reviews related statements and files of relevant parties to make credibility assessments; performs relevant legal analysis and communicates with parties and witnesses while protecting the integrity of the record and privacy of the investigation; drafts and presents findings and appropriate supporting documents related to resolution of each matter.
