We have approximately 70 tenure track faculty and 60 non-tenure-track faculty. The college has approximately 5,800 undergraduate, 1,000 master’s, and 60 doctoral students. The Lyons School of Accounting is named after Terry Lyons, an alumnus whose family created a generous endowment to foster excellence in teaching, research, and service. The Lyons School employs 22 full-time faculty (seven Lecturers/Senior Lecturers, four Professors of Practice, and 11 tenured/tenure-track faculty) and nine doctoral students. Approximately 300 students enter the undergraduate accounting major each year, and approximately half of these students continue to earn their Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) degree. Referred to as the “Hub City” because it serves as the educational, cultural, economic, and health care hub of the South Plains region, Lubbock boasts a diverse population and a strong connection to community, history, and land.
