![]() AY26 - Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES Position Location: West Los Angeles College AY26 - Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor FULL-TIME, TENURE TRACK POSITION C BASIS APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: January 27, 2026 The LACCD is comprised of nine colleges serving all or part of more than 40 cities in Southern California and spanning a service area of 882 square miles. Its colleges offer instruction to 225,000 students, annually, in 600 associates' degree and 400 certificate of achievement programs in general, career-technical and transfer education, and contribute significantly to the economic and social well-being of its students, the regional economy and the greater Los Angeles area. DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The West Los Angeles College (WLAC) - Applied Technology Division seeks a creative faculty member with a demonstrated commitment to student success for a full-time tenure track position. WLAC offers the only Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved community college program in Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) in the city of Los Angeles. The successful candidates will exhibit a passion for teaching and will have an opportunity to lead a growing Aviation Maintenance program and to work collaboratively with the college's other departments to build an integrated program that offers multiple academic and/or professional pathways. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Capable of teaching all courses in the Aviation Maintenance Technician Program (AMTP). Note: The teaching schedule for the 2026-2027 academic year is Monday through Thursday from 6:50 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. or 2:00pm to 7:30pm, plus 5 hours 35 minutes per week office hours. Future schedules may include evening or weekend hours as part of the assignment. MINIMUM DEGREE AND LICENSE QUALIFICATIONS: (Instructors must meet the FAA eligibility requirements of FAR 147.23) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT A medical certificate indicating fitness to engage in administrative work is required for new employees at the applicant's expense prior to employment. Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated and complete a baseline test or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees' policy. Newly hired employees will be required to provide their vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary Range $76, 960 to $143,000 commensurate with academic preparation and experience. The doctoral differential is $4,870 per academic year. District benefits include health, dental and vision insurance for the employee and eligible dependents and term life insurance for the employee.
