buidings, preservation of historic architecture including public art & monuments, historic collections and cultural

Pacific Sealants, established in 1985, is a waterproofing subcontracting firm specializing in joint sealants and
waterproofing. Pacific Sealants has long established relationships with general contractors, waterproofing
consultants, property management companies and building owners. PACIFIC MASONRY RESTORATIONS (PMR) Lic. #: 993195
Pacific Masonry Restoration is a masonry firm founded to provide repair of existing masonry buildings and
construction of new masonry structures. PMR specializing in the repair of new and archaic masonry such as stone,
brick, terra cotta, tile and concrete materials. PMR also offers services including demolition, stucco repair, painting,
etc.

ARG Conservation Services (ARG/CS) is a design-build firm specializing in the conservation and preservation of
historically and culturally significant buildings, sites, monuments and collections within an historic building context.
The firm currently has three divisions: Conservation, Construction, and Masonry. ARG/CS also owns two
subcontracting companies, Pacific Masonry Restoration and Pacific Sealants. Pacific Masonry Restoration is a union
masonry company focused on historic buildings and Pacific Sealants installs sealant joints in high-rises and other
commercial buildings both new and existing.
Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including financial reporting,
budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, job cost accounting, and compliance. This role is crucial in ensuring the
financial health and integrity of the construction company, supporting strategic decision-making, and providing
leadership to the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
• Financial Management & Reporting
o Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance
with GAAP.
o Maintain the general ledger and oversee the month-end and year-end close process.
o Develop and monitor key financial metrics and KPIs relevant to construction operations.
Job Cost Accounting
o Oversee job costing processes, ensuring accurate allocation of labor, materials, equipment, and
overhead.
o Work closely with project managers and estimators to track project budgets, cost-to-complete
reports, and profit margins.
o Provide regular job cost reports and variance analysis.
Budgeting & Forecasting
o Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasting.
o Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital needs.
Compliance & Risk Management
o Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
o Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and bonding companies. o Maintain adequate internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Leadership & Team Management
o Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team (AP/AR, payroll, etc.).
o Collaborate with executives and operations leaders to align financial strategy with business goals.
o Recommend improvements to financial processes and systems.
• Technology & Systems
o Manage the accounting software Sage 100 Contractor.
o Ensure integration between financial systems and project management software.
