Salary Range $105,000.00 - $174,000.00Overview In 1971, Yale University established Yale Health to provide health services to its facility, staff and students through a multidisciplinary health maintenance organization located on campus. We are celebrating over 50 years of service to the Yale community. Yale Health seeks an experienced and collaborative leader to serve as the Director of Mental Health Services. This position reports directly to the Associate Chief Clinical Operations Officer. The Director ensures the delivery of high-quality, accessible, care that supports wellness, behavioral health needs, and public health readiness within a dynamic academic environment. The role includes oversight of service delivery, staffing, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement initiatives Schedule: Full-Time, M-F; 8:30-5pm, evenings, weekends, holidays/recess as needed. Minimum of 5 years of management experience in outpatient, behavioral health, public health, or student health settings. Experience in an academic health environment. Leadership experience in both routine and/or urgent/emergency operations. Principal Responsibilities
Principal Responsibilities 1. Ensure high-quality clinical care, patient safety, service excellence, and timely access to care 2. Develop strategic programs that enhance behavioral health access, integration and resources required to meet demands of population. 3. Develop the strategic roadmap & framework for development and integration of collaborative care models across Yale Health clinical departments with clinical leaders. 4. Collaborate with clinical and university partners as well as executive leaders to support the implementation of the collaborative care model. 5. Monitor performance metrics, trends, and service demands 6. Partner with Executive leadership, Chiefs, Directors & Managers to oversee budgets, trends, anticipate and plan for future needs and resource utilization. 7. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation (CT DPH, JC, OSHA) standards. 8. Develop and maintain policies and procedures aligned with best practices. 9. Promote a supportive, professional work environment. 10. Develop quality improvement, readiness reviews, improvement and patient experience initiatives. 11. Develop and maintain strategic programs, partnerships, and long-range planning. 12. Data, Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and analytic reports; Use data to guide decisions, resource allocation, and program planning. 13. Implement improvement initiatives for workflow efficiency and outcomes. 14. Financial & Resource Management: Prepare and manage annual budgets; monitor performance and variances. 15. Oversee resource utilization and vendor relationships. 16. Plan for staffing, technology needs, and program growth. 17. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with Yale Health leaders and university partners. Collaborate to define and achieve access, quality, and service metrics. 18. Serve as liaison for crisis management and public health needs. 19. Participate in professional organizations and remain current on trends. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Licenses and Certifications Current licensure as an R.N., LCSW, Psychologist, or other clinical profession in the State of Connecticut or Connecticut License eligible. Preferred Education and Experience 1. Master’s degree (MPH, MSN, MBA, or related field) 2. Minimum of 5 years of management experience in outpatient, behavioral health, public health, or student health settings. 3. Experience in an academic health environment and with public health immunization programs. Leadership experience in crisis or emergency response.
