Assistant AD, Business and Financial Reporting About the Department: George Mason Athletics unites communities by developing champions with a mission to inspire and transform lives through the power of sports. Mason Athletics serves 500 student-athletes in 22 NCAA Division I sports. About the Position: The Assistant AD, Business and Financial Reporting manages the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Department Business Office. This position maintains daily oversight of the Athletic Department’s financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable / receivable, and procurement functions. This position also reviews / approves select expenditures and maintains/supports an environment that emphasizes and prioritizes adherence to a strong internal control framework. Specifically, the Assistant Athletic Director, Business and Financial Reporting works in conjunction with the Deputy AD, Finance & Business Strategy / CFO to ensure that the Athletic Department’s financial reporting requirements are met. The position oversees the completion of mandated and ad hoc financial reports/analyses (i.e., Federal EADA Report and NCAA AUP Report). Since this position is responsible for overseeing the financial reporting process, the position serves as the primary liaison to the Athletic Department’s internal and external auditors on most business-related matters. Additionally, the Asst. AD, Business and Financial Reporting supports the development of the Athletic Department’s annual budget. Responsibilities: Mandatory Reporting
