What Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health Inventory Management is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning and customer forecasting systems, supply planning, product deployment and expediting processes, and the development and implementation of a stocking optimization model to minimize costs and inventory while delivering on service requirements. This position is responsible for analyzing inventory holding costs by effectively managing inventory supply levels. This requires examining customer shortages, overstocks, slow moving and discontinued inventory and determining the appropriate action. This position communicates daily with other Cardinal Health Distribution Centers, Buyers, Customers and Vendor Representatives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Daily monitoring and reporting of service levels and retaining appropriate levels of days of inventory on hand; Execute and manage the transfer of product between Cardinal distribution centers; Generate, analyze and maintain MS Excel spreadsheets to track various inventory and purchasing statistics; Analyze inventory data to forecast supply levels; Processing slow moving, overstock and discontinued products to be sent back to Vendors and/or transferred to other Distribution Centers; Negotiating with Vendors to secure product returns; Work on special projects as assigned. Daily contact with Inventory Control, the Morgue, Buyers, Category Managers, and Divisional Contacts to move product in and out of the division.
