 Admissions Specialist University of California Riverside Job Number: 32093392 Full/Part Time: Full Time Schedule: 8AM - 5PM Salary: $59,000 - $103,400 Position Information The Admissions Specialist applies skills as a seasoned, experienced recruitment and/or admissions professional, to identify potential students, provide information, and ensure good relationships with the public and institutions and organizations involved in outreach/recruitment and/or independently reviews applications for admission, using professional judgment in determining whether an applicant meets the requirements for admission, making exceptions to admissions requirements, and taking into account a variety of requirements. Recommends improvements/modifications to the program. Please Note: This position has multiple openings. Additionally, a presentation will be required as a part of this interview process. The budgeted hourly/salary range for this position is $59,000 - $70,100. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. Must successfully complete a background check through the University's background check agency prior to your start date, and a fingerprint check through the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigations. Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Licenses License Requirement Valid Driver's License Required Experience Experience Requirement 4 - 7 years of related experience. Required Minimum Requirements Special Condition Requirement Must be able to pass a Department of Justice and FBI background check. Required Must possess or obtain a Valid CA Driver License in accordance with the California Department of Motor Vehicles, if driving a university/personal vehicle for university related business. Required Travel Outside of Normal Business Hours Required Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours) Required Travel Required Public Driving Record Required Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions. Ability to develop recruitment programs, and design effective materials. Ability to organize and set priorities that accurately reflect the importance of the job responsibilities Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs, at colleges/universities and specifically at UC, and/or specific colleges and schools. Ability to interpret policies and procedures to prospective students and the public. Ability to listen, anticipate, and respond to the needs of customers to achieve excellent customer service measured by outcomes rather than activities. Ability to effectively manage a large volume of undergraduate admission applications and multiple programs in a timely manner while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
