Ambulatory Coding Manager

Signature Medical Group (SMG), part of Signature Healthcare system in Southeastern Massachusetts is actively seeking a highly skilled leader to join their team as their next Ambulatory Coding Manager!

The Position 

• The Ambulatory Coding Manager will provide managerial oversight and technical support for the ambulatory department, ensuring accurate diagnosis and procedure coding.
• Reporting to the Senior Director of Revenue Cycle, this leader will oversee a team of two direct reports and 23 FTEs.
• This leader will participate in optimization and design sessions for current and new/upgraded products such as the RCx system. In addition will communicate and work with physicians and practice support staff to assure that documentation meets regulatory standards.
• The ideal candidate will be an experienced coding leader with excellent communication skills and a hands-on leadership style. This individual must be able to mentor and educate staff while holding them accountable. Prior leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage people will be critical.

Requirements 

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least five years of experience working in an ambulatory care or hospital setting required, along with a minimum of three years of coding experience.
• CPC certification required or must be obtained within one year of hire; membership in AAPC or AHIMA highly preferred.
• RCx and Meditech experience is a plus.
