Monterey Peninsula College (MPC) is currently accepting applications to establish a part-time assignment in this discipline. TRIO Math-Science Upward Bound (MSUB) is a federal grant funded program designed to assist 10th-12th grade first-generation and/or low-income students pursue a higher education. Support services are intended to assist eligible students to achieve academic success by developing academic skills necessary to succeed in college. The Part-Time Counselor will assist the Coordinator/Counselor in the overall operations of the MPC MSUB Program activities in the Monterey Peninsula School District. The Part-Time Counselor will also assist in recruiting participants, providing workshops, academic advising for project participants, and assistance in completing the college admissions process. Assignments include: Day, evening and weekend hours at the Monterey campus, Marina EducationCenter, and other sites in the community. *Please note that due to COVID-19, the UC Santa Cruz Summer Residential program has been postponed. The 2021 Summer Academy will take place virtually. Example of Duties Under the supervision of the Dean of Career Education and the guidance of the Department, the part-time instructor will provide instruction in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, class schedules, and Governing Board policy; evaluate progress of students concerning educational matters, and perform other instructional related duties as assigned. Instructor may be assigned to the Monterey campus and/or Marina Education Center. Travel required with reimbursement for mileage.
