Resident Assistant

Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful residential community.

Plan and implement educational, social, and developmental programming for residents.

Promote student engagement and campus involvement.

Serve as a resource and referral agent for academic, personal, and campus concerns.

Maintain regular contact with assigned residents.

Assist students in conflict resolution and peer mediation.

Uphold and enforce University policies and Residence Life regulations.

Conduct routine safety and security rounds.

Document incidents accurately and submit reports in a timely manner.

Respond appropriately to emergencies following university protocols.

Attend required staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service workshops.

Assist with hall openings, closings, room inspections, and check-in/check-out procedures.

Maintain accurate records and communication logs.

Represent Residence Life and Alcorn State University in a professional manner.

Serve as a role model who demonstrates leadership, integrity, and accountability.

Support university initiatives and student success efforts.
