| Description: The Assistant Director of Building Operations, Physical Plant, and Utilities oversees daily operations, maintenance, and projects for the organization's facilities. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating maintenance and repair work, assisting with budget management, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing projects related to buildings, grounds, and utilities. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Facilities. Core Duties
Primary Function of Organizational Unit: The mission of Facilities is to provide a quality learning, research, and living environment for the benefit of students, faculty, staff, and the community by planning, building, operating, and maintaining the campus of North Carolina A&T State University. Requirements: Education: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Engineering, or a related area is often required, though some experience in utility management may substitute for the degree. Experience: Multiple years of experience in facilities, physical plant, or utilities management, including supervisory and administrative duties. Skills: Strong project management, budget management, and leadership skills. Familiarity with building systems, safety regulations, and standard office software essential. Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for team management, conflict resolution, and relationship building. Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems, especially with complex projects and delays. Valid Driver's License required.
