| Position Title: Safety Coordinator
Location: Norton, Kansas
Status: Full-Time, Exempt Position Summary
Prairie Land Electric Cooperative is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as Safety Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting the cooperative’s safety programs, promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization, and assisting with compliance with applicable federal, state, and industry safety regulations. The Safety Coordinator works closely with leadership and employees to reduce risk, enhance safety awareness, and support safe work practices across all cooperative operations. Key Responsibilities - Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the cooperative’s safety programs and policies.
- Monitor compliance with applicable safety regulations including OSHA and other relevant regulatory agencies.
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, and job site observations.
- Coordinate safety meetings, training programs, and safety communications for employees.
- Assist with accident and incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records, documentation, and required regulatory reporting.
- Support leadership in promoting a culture of safety and accountability throughout the Cooperative.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in office, warehouse, and outdoor field environments with frequent travel throughout the Cooperative’s service territory. Duties require working outdoors in varying weather conditions and observing field operations. Occasional overtime and irregular hours may be required during outages, storm restoration, emergencies, or safety incidents. How to Apply
