| Description: The Employee Relations/Workplace Investigator (Investigator) serves as a professional, independent investigator, responsible for conducting neutral, thorough and well-document investigations of workplace misconduct, violations of University policy, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other equal opportunity–related matters. The Investigator plays a crucial role in promoting a fair and inclusive workplace, and in protecting the rights of employees and they are committed to promoting and enforcing equal employment opportunity for all university employees. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Employee Relations/Sr. Employee Relations Consultant, the Investigator gathers and analyzes evidence, interviews witnesses and parties involved in the complaint, and determines the complaint's merit. They are also responsible for making recommendations for appropriate action to be taken, such as mediation or disciplinary action. This position is a professional investigative role, distinct from human resources or employee relations consulting functions. The Investigator applies advanced investigative and interviewing skills to develop objective factual records and defensible investigative findings that support informed institutional decision-making. The investigator works closely with Human Resources, Legal Counsel, Title IX, Compliance, and campus leadership while ensuring due process and confidentiality. The investigator performs other duties as assigned.
